Sunday Morning Bagel Lines

Huge line at Murray's Bagels on 6th Avenue this morning. Figured the bagels were good because of the long line.

Ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese and salmon to go "totally" New York.

It was good, but $10.45 good? Nope. Could get two Waffle House All-Star Breakfasts for that!

New York is suddenly crazy for Dolly Parton, who grew up just 20 miles from my house.

Pretty soon, we'll be having Bobby Osborne & Earl Scruggs concerts in Central Park and clogging competitions at Studio 54.

Spectacular Thunderstorms Last Night

One advantage of city living is the tall buildings and massive heat bubble generated by New York tends to push aside extremely severe weather such as winds, tornadoes, thunderstorms and the like.

Last night, however, we had some pretty impressive lighting run through Manhattan and keep our beagles in a nervous twitter in the middle of the night.

Here's video of not one, not two but three lighting strikes to the Empire State Building last night.

 

Paparazzi Down The Street

Couldn't figure out why there was a horde of photographers outside the Trump Hotel as the cab drove by taking me home tonight. Then I remembered:

Charlie Sheen's in town, staying at Trump's place. I'll have to go out to Starbucks in the morning for my usual caffe mocha with a shot of tiger blood.
